'Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.'
Matthew 26:41

This week we start a week of prayer and fasting. Fasting must be for the sole purpose of prayer. In fact, one should not fast if one is not going to spend time in prayer and meditate on God’s Word.

Fasting and prayer is an act of faith and dependence on what God alone can do in our lives.

Jesus told his disciples to watch and pray so they by the grace of God will not fall into temptation.

Fasting and prayer is most useful to help us align ourselves with God and depend on God for His heavenly resources in the fight of our spiritual battles.

God alone can set us free from bondages and spiritual strongholds. So let’s draw near to Him.
